Darondo, The Wolf, 1972

The Wolf is a big piece of dusty west coast soul, with heavy doses of blues and RnB through the vocals. Darondo lets the emotion grow throughout the track switching between his usual moody delivery and a higher pitched more ghostly tone in places.

Darondo had a short lived career, and despite warming up for James Brown in the 70's Darondo only released 3 singles before jacking it all in. Seemingly because he didn't really fancy it... "I was just having a good time with a real good hobby, it wasn’t about money but about having fun. Something I just liked to do. Maybe your dream is to be a James Brown or Frank Sinatra but those were just mostly dreams to me.”
